First Place at the 2026 Hollard Hackathon

At CyberPro Consulting, we are proud to celebrate the achievements of our consultants who continue to demonstrate technical excellence, innovation, and a passion for solving real business challenges.

Congratulations to Junior Matlou and Linda Motaung, two of our talented Full Stack Developers, and their team on securing First Place at the recent Hollard Hackathon.

Junior has been part of the CyberPro family for more than four years, while Linda has been with CyberPro for the past year. Together with their team, they delivered an exceptional solution that not only addressed a real business challenge but also showcased the power of Agentic Software Development.

Solving a Real Business Challenge

The team focused on a genuine challenge within Hollard Life’s Product Administration environment.

Product configuration changes were largely managed through manual database scripts, creating unnecessary operational risk, increasing the likelihood of human error, requiring developer intervention, and offering limited validation controls.

The team’s objective was clear: replace this manual process with a secure, modern administration portal that would allow business and operational users to manage product configurations through an intuitive web interface.

Rethinking Software Delivery with Agentic AI

While the business solution itself was impressive, one of the most innovative aspects of the project was the way it was built.

Rather than using AI as a simple coding assistant, the team embraced an Agentic Software Development approach. Multiple specialised AI agents collaborated throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), each taking ownership of a specific engineering discipline while working together much like a traditional software delivery team.

The AI agents included:

  • Business Analyst Agent: Responsible for requirements gathering, analysis, backlog creation, and user story generation.
  • Architect Agent: Responsible for solution architecture, technical design, implementation planning, and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Data Engineer Agent: Responsible for database design, schema modelling, and data-related implementation decisions.
  • Backend Developer Agent: Responsible for API development, business logic implementation, and backend engineering support.
  • Frontend Developer Agent: Responsible for user interface development and user experience implementation.
  • QA Agent: Responsible for generating and executing automated test suites, validating functionality, identifying defects, and ensuring production readiness.

Working alongside the engineering team, these AI agents accelerated delivery across analysis, architecture, development, testing, and validation while maintaining engineering quality and governance.

Delivering More Than Expected

Although the project began as a Hackathon concept, the final solution exceeded the team’s original expectations.

The team delivered a production-ready Product Administration Portal built using:

  • ReactJS
  • Tailwind CSS
  • .NET 8 APIs
  • Existing enterprise authentication and integration services

The solution enables business users to:

  • Manage products through a secure web interface instead of manual database scripts.
  • Create, update, and remove product benefits.
  • Manage Line of Business configurations.
  • Perform interactive rate testing.
  • Apply validation rules before changes are committed.
  • Reduce dependency on technical teams for configuration changes.
  • Improve governance and operational efficiency through controlled administration workflows.

By replacing a manual, script-driven process with a modern digital platform, the team demonstrated how technology can improve both operational efficiency and business agility.

Innovation That Delivered Results

A key differentiator was the team’s ability to combine business value with modern engineering practices.

The specialised AI agents worked collaboratively throughout the software delivery lifecycle, while the QA Agent continuously generated and executed automated tests to validate functionality and maintain confidence in the application’s production readiness.

Instead of delivering a proof of concept, the team successfully produced a solution that was considered production-ready within the Hackathon timeframe, an achievement that ultimately secured First Place.

At CyberPro Consulting, we are proud to have consultants like Junior Matlou and Linda Motaung representing us with innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to delivering meaningful business outcomes.

Congratulations once again to Junior, Linda, and the entire team on this outstanding achievement. We look forward to seeing how they continue to shape the future of software development through innovation and emerging technologies.
